Ideas on where to hide amp in lukebox setup

Getting ready to install my 12" luke box with the false wall. I love how stealthy it looks! I was going to mount my amp on the false rear wall but I'd rather have it out of sight too, so that when people hear my bass then open my trunk they'll just be left scratching their heads.

Where could I put the amp? Make a space between false wall and box? I've got 4 itty bitty laptop fans running air through the heat sinks on the amp so I could probably get by with a pretty tight space.

What about making an amp rack? Anyone have pictures of their amp in their lukebox setup?

ooorr.... use his template on a piece of wood instead of card board then mount the amp to the inside of that. That's what I did. Then use two L brackets to lock it in place. You should have plenty of space.

Spare tire well is good to but less air space for the am to cool. Depending on your setup this may be irrelevant.

Just mount the amp to the back of the box and then don't cut a hole in the beauty board for it. Let me dig up a pic of the install I did in the wife's eta...

So how is that beauty board held into place? It just such a perfect fit that it stays snug? Luke suggested that I use the template but cut it larger then just trim it down until it fits perfect like? How are the false walls held into place though? Are they mounted to the luke box before the box is mounted to the skipass?

they are just that perfect of a fit. I cut out of wood 10cm over the template or so and it fit is tightly. Then I just used L brackets to lock it in.

Still not clear on where exactly you're putting the L brackets. You're screwing them into the rear of the beauty board right? But what else are they anchored to?

Didn't think of that... what do you mount it to though? Wedge a board in there then mount the amp to that board?

So mounting on the box behing the beauty board you guys are saying to put the beauty board right up against the amp? Will the amp have enough breathing room?

I've got 4 micro laptop 12v fans to put on my amp though so maybe with those it will be cool enough.

How would I wire 4 12v fans to the amp?

But I don't understand why on that guide he has a neon light hooked up with the fan/amp setup. Is some random 12v device required? Or maybe that guide was just written when neon tubes were all the rage.

Use angle iron to "suspend" the amp in mid air behind the panel. I have seen a few installs done with a amp on either side like this. There are hold drilled already to put the metal mounts on.

I'm a little worried about it having enough airspace to stay cool.

I dont have any pictures. But if you remove the rear trim. You will see the large open area there for it to mount in. Just make some brakets that hold it in place.
