My radio memory is always erease

So I just installed a alpine headunit into the e30 and every time I turn off the car the damn radio reset itself. I believe I wired everything up right because the radio works but the memory always restart. I noticed that when I turn off my car after a few second I see the tach jumps real quick to about 700 rpm and then that is it. Does anyone know what is wrong? I doubled checked the wiring for the radio, everything looks good.

Something was wired wrong or not wired at all.
Radio installers did this to my unit long time ago and happily fixed after coming back the next day explaining your situation.

Check your wiring again. The yellow wire on the Alpine harness needs to be connected to constant power, the red wire is hooked up to a switch source (ignition).

When those wires are reversed or the yellow wire is also on a switched source with the red, the deck will work but lose all presets when it's turned off.

A multimeter works even better, BUT using it right is key.

People like to unplug shit THEN test.

Do you care if there's power with it plugged in? No!

Plug it back in try to turn the item on, then test it!
