The V2 is rated at 500 rms right? How did you like the sound quality and overall output of the ID Q? I would love a MAX but would probably be over kill for my 4 door... May be perfect for my S197 tho.... hmmmm :D I would also likely be installing in one of lukes boxes when i can get the funds... How much would you sell the IDs for?

They are the IDQ version 3s. So they can take 500rms. I wouldn't recommend much more though. They recommend 350 to 500. I really liked the SQ and output a lot. They were the best subs I had heard other than the IDMAX.

Price, well maybe $250 for both? Again I am going to see if one will fit in my e30 box. Not sure if they will, their mounting area is slightly larger than the normal woofer.

Will one of them fit in one of lukes boxes? Let me know if you decide to sell and i will jump on it! I have heard that they are one of the best subs on the market and would love to get my hands on one. Luke what is your opinion on the ID CTX65CS? I have had these sitting in their box for almost 2 years.

Not absolutely certain they will not fit, but I think they are too deep and too large an outer diameter...but last night I decided I want one.

What I would like to do is have Darren ship both of them to me, I will build a "semi-custom" box for yours and ship yours to you, already tested. The box will cost a little more than a normal one, but I would say an excellent value.

Assuming you are into SQ, and not a super boomer bass head.

That 65CX is an EXCELLENT kit. The midbass isn't as burly as the next bigger size, but produces about 95% as much bottom end as the bigger one.

My question is where would you put it? I don't think that is going to fit in a kickpanel, unless you want to just leave the glovebox closed, or motorize it on sliders (guess which one idea I want to do?).

I am going to be doing some super-bitchin late model door panel inserts that will allow just about any 6.5' driver to fit the door panel (as in NOT bulky "pods", but a full panel insert) similar in style to the E34 panels shown in this album: http://s102.photobucket.com/albums/m...34%20Interior/

The only thing is that I want them partially recessed so they look stock-ish. Since all the E30 door panels seem to be delaminating anyway, this will be a huge cosmetic improvement too.

Well guys, if that is the route you want to go I can do that. I don't think the depth will be the issue but like luke said the mounting width. I am leaving for Europe Friday so I won't have time to test fit one now or ship it to you, but if you would like to go that way I can do that when I get back the 2nd.

Also, luke those door panels wouldn't work for an 4/1987 e30? If they do I want some :)

                  Very cool!

My last system consisted of 2ohm CXS62 components upfront and a pair of IDQ V2 12" 2ohm subs in a sealed box. All powered by 1 phoenix gold Ti amp (back when they were good) and alpine 7995 (ampless deck)... I fucking loved it.

Too bad ID went under :( And 500RMS for the IDQ subs v2 or v3 will bottom them out, about 300-350 is all they need.

I am down for one of your custom boxes for sure for an IDq. Yes i am more of an sq oriented kinda guy but i do like some thump!! I used to be a bass head but I'm tired of the muddy and delayed bass.

How much do u figure a box made to fit this would run?

I'd like to get my CTXs in there. I may be down for some of those panels once u get a final idea on how it's gonna be. I will probably put then in the kicks for now until a better option is available. I'm nit concerned with the glove box currently as the hinge in mine is broken anyway lol

I'm not in any rush to get a system in place for my car since my priority is piecing together parts for an s50 swap.

Luke, I have an alpine v12 mrv-f545 that I planned to use for the components in the front(no rear fill) do you know if I can bridge the other 2 channels and what the output and accepted impedance would be?

500 isn't ideal for a v3 but it won't bottom them out and they will play perfectly and hard. Just have to not be an idiot when setting the gain. 350 is just about perfect though.

                        Luke and jwth2005,

I just got back from overseas last night. What did you guys want to do with the IDQs? I am going to try to see if I can get one to fit in the e30 box tomorrow, but if it can't I'll sell both. jwth2005... did you want to buy one?
