"Luke Box" type setup in my E30

    Hey Guys,

My car has the aux fuel tank, so there's now way of me getting an original Lukebox in my car. Could you knowledgables maybe be able to tell me how to achieve the same kind of setup in my car?

Will a bandpass box vented into the cabin via the parcel shelf have the same effect? What must I do? System sounds OK as it is now, but the rattling from the rear is starting to annoy me. And venting through the parcel shelf would surely allow more bass into the cabin.

Sound consists of Alpine CDE100EUB, JVC coaxials in stock front locations, Kenwood Tweeters in Sail panels, Kenwood 600W 6×9's in parcel shelf off a 800W Starsound digital Amp, Audiopipe 1000W SVC in sealed enclosure off a 2400W ICE Power monoblock.

I've always been annoyed by the 6×9's drowning out all the bass from the sub (even with the amp set on HPF), and after reading a few threads here, the amp for them has been turned off (disconected). I still need to wire them from the deck. System sounds much better now, but it could definately do with more bass in the cabin.

    Please help.

Luke, thanks for your reply. Somehow I knew using your name in the title would get your attention ;)

I will take a picture when I get home. Not driving the E30 today. Will post tomorrow. There's a plate between the trunk and the tank, so it's actually a fake wall. both amps are mounted to it. I'd like to clean up the install, but first want to do the box.
I'll probably move the amps at that stage as well.

Guys, sorry for replying only now. I've taken the pic last week already, but silly me, keep on forgetting to upload, and when I do remember, I don't have the camera with me.

Just imagine a euro trunk with a thin vertical plate to hide the aux tank.

I've already removed the 4 chan amp the 6×9's were on. will tidy up the rest of the wiring when I do the rears from the head. Or when I find time between housebuilding and working.

Please assist with advice if a bandpass vented into the cabin will have the same effect as a Luke Box. i know it will not be 100% the same, but any improvement will certainly help.

            TIA

              Finally remembered to upload.

The wires of the removed amp has been cleaned up by now.
Where the amp is mounted on is the plate that covers the aux tank.

              I await your suggestions

Yeah, I know she be dirty ;)

Haven't driven her for two weeks. My wife took her to work this morning. Already bumped the sumpguard twice. sigh.

                Cheers

It would help a lot more if you took a picture of the trunk wall without the sub/amp/carpet in there. Then we could see what all is actually there and whether or not a sub sealed into the cabin like a lukebox would be feasible.

The sub in that box is never going to seal up like an e3010. The porting into the cabin is only part of the picture. The woofer itself is sealed into the cabin too along with the port tubes through the ski pass hole. The faces of our boxes are angled to meet the seat wall and foamed to form a gasket.

Tino, empty your trunk, get some light in there and take some pictures.

Lets figure this shit out for you, OK?

                            Hi,

Only seen the replys today. Will do my utmost best to post pics by the end of the week. My car is parked off at my mom's place. Gas prices taking a big hike again this week so I'd rather not drive the m30e30 in fear of total budget destruction!

                            Cheers Guys
