there is definatly room.
i dont want a box though.
so im thinking either behin rear seat in trunk or under driver/passenger seat(sub under my seat anmp under passenger).
just asking what subs would be good to use, im not familiar with audio stuff.
I'm being honest. You can't squeeze a subwoofer magnet between the rear seat and the bulkhead. Unless you want to smash it into the seatfoam and block the vent hole.
between?
i was gonna mount it facing into the car but have it in trunk, same idea as putting a full box in the trunk but having the subs faced in.
^^^people do that all the time and it sounds fine, so where would you put the subs?
Devon, are you trying to have no box at all? That type of install is called "Infinite Baffle" and basically uses your trunk as a box. That type of install can sound wonderful, as long as you don't listen to anything with actual bass content, or plan to play it loud, ever,
The issue is that the box is the woofers suspension, that is what controls the cone movement of the speaker more than anything.
You really can use a $40 woofer and a $50 amp and get deep, clean great sounding bass in one of my boxes. An infinite baffle setup in inherently inefficient, takes a ton of power and a woofer capable of both flapping around in free air and (because it is flapping around loose) needs to be able to handle a ton of power.
So, if you listen to ONLY 50's and 60's pop/rock at quiet volumes, or Jazz, IB can work really really well.
Here is a pic of the 12" box installed (the 10" is 2" shallower):

OP; you seem to be trying to re-invent the wheel.
Do you know that guys like Luke have been in the audio business for years and that this method was tried before and failed?, hence the reason why there is such a thing as a Luke Box.
I don't own a Luke product but I have personally seen and heard, how hard the sub kicks in the box configuration in the trunk.
Good luck to you Sir. because unless you delete your glovebox or cut holes into the engine firewall, I don't foresee this happening, any time soon.
