Any ideas as to what it could potentially be? I am not savvy in wiring at all.Originally posted by SonnyI am a meme for our community.

Thanks Luke. So perhaps replacing the actuator would solve my issue? I'll check the bentley, but is the actuator located at the lock? My drivers side door lock is busted (cant lock but can unlock) so would it be a safe bet that it is the one in question? I am sorry I am asking. I am posting from my iPod as I have been at work all day and have not gotten a chance to look in my book or search.Originally posted by SonnyI am a meme for our community.

The "sending unit" that tells the CLM what to do IS the door lock motor, AKA the "actuator".
Thus the 5 wires going to an electric motor. 2 to run the motor, 1 ground wire that feeds the 2 signal wires.
You can also test by pulling the door harness from the door jamb. It is not that hard, but can be a PITA to get back together properly.
Kick its butt!

So I had some times yesterday to play around with it. I found that while I couldnt get the door jam wiring harness completely unplugged, moving it around did cause the "humming" to change in pitch. Is this enough to prove that it is in fact the drivers side actuator? Keep in mind mine is a late model coupe so I believe I only have 3 options (drivers, passenger, and trunk). And if this is enough proof, is this the right part?
