    Window problems

Sooooo, warm summer night driving the girl home with the windows all down, then heading home myself. Roll up normally obnoxious passenger window with no problems. Then for some reason the driver side and sunroof just don't work. Never had any problems before. They just don't work at all. And passenger side wont roll down. Everything else was working just fine. It was like I lost power to the switches for no reason.

What should I do here? I already checked fuses, they all appeared intact.
    Help

Didi you try to reset the switch which is located in front of the passenger side Window switch ?
I think it is a tripping breaker in case of one of the window/roof motor overheat...
Try that and see if you can get everything running/closed.
If not, then you should have a look at your fuses in the fusebox, see if any fuse is burnt.

Every E30 with electric windows have it, either on the center console on top of the Head unit ( one of the switch near the hazard light ) or on the shifter console, in front of the right window switch...

See on my car, highly visible on the shifter console.

Basically you have to cycle to switch, and windows/Roof, should work. that is the common point between Window/roof power.

        Or check fuse number 17...

Hmm alright. I have what I thought was just a dead switch by the hazard light. Never noticed that it did anything, guess I'll give it a go in the morning

Forget what i said, check straight to your fuse 17.
The breaker is for the windows only, not the sunroof...

Yeah I tried the switch and then went and rechecked the fuse box and yeah haha 17 had popped. My bad ;)

Anyway I grabbed the little replacement green one thats on the lid of the fuse box. It was also green and also had a 30 stamped on it so I figured that would work. As soon as there was power it popped…
Left is what was in there, right is what I put in that popped...

If the new fuse pops again, it is time to disconnect you window/roof motors 1 by 1 and find the one that is tripping the CB, if no change, then check the wire betweenthe fuse and those motors for grounding.

Also you should check the Elec Schematics for your car and see if anything else is powered by fuse 17.

                  have fun

I would check the motors? Wouldn't I check the switches? I didn't think power ran to the motors until you hit the switch, and since it's popping as soon as the Power is turned on wouldn't it be a short in the switches or the wiring near them?
