besides almost half the price is there anything Im losing out on with the non oem switches? should I worry about buying the non oems?

I like the e36 switches but I enjoy the older classic look and feel of the stock switches. so please dont refer to them instead.

I would love to order then asap so I can get my windows functioning again before the weekend. someone please give me peace of mind

I went with aftermarket when time to replace mine. The top of the switches are a little square and not rounded like OEM. But, I couldn't justify the price difference. And the aftermarket has been working fine.

thanks man, I figured it was just minor cosmetic....if they function for longer then a few years then I'm fine with that since I use them daily. Id expect to be replacing motors/regulators before the switches die again

The stock ones can be rebuilt fairly easily. Basically just pull them apart, clean them really well, sand the contacts and reassemble with some dielectric grease. I rebuilt one that is sitting on my desk for the hell of it and it now works like new.
