    Tweeter Issue

I've run across and issue , I wired my tweeters directly to the audio outputs near the speakers in the kick panel, they were working fine until today when I was playing music a tad too loud and now those wires won't play anything, i've tried different speakers and still no sound, any ideas? is it possible those wires could have burned?

Nevermind, blew both the tweeters, maybe i'm running too many watts to those tweeters, I may have to look into better speakers.

Are you running the positive lead through the capacitor on the woofer before it goes to the tweeter?

        ^This.
I figure you've solved this problem by now, since it has been a few weeks, but just in case...

If you are running the wires to your tweeters from some point before the capacitor that is mounted on the on the factory premium sound speakers, your tweeters will continue to blow no matter how nice a tweeter you get to upgrade them. The capacitor serves as a high pass crossover to send only the higher frequency musical content to the tweeter, and block the bass. The bass, if allowed to pass to the tweeter, will blow any tweeter you put in there (though they might survive for a while at a REALLY low volume). Of course, this is assuming you are using factory PS speakers. Aftermarket speakers would have the same issue but with a possible twist as to how their crossover is setup.
