how to start my car with no key

So i am thinking of buying a 325ix but the owner said he has no keys for the car so i would have to tow it home but the car works perfictly fine(yea im stupid to belive this) he did say that he had a locksmith make keys for the that open the doors but wont start the car. does that make sense for a 89

No. A dealer should be able to fix a key if u bring the documents on the car.
    Id check if its stolen..

If you need to start the car without a key one way is to take the ignition switch off the back of the ignition lock. You can do this by removing of the steering wheel and the plastic trim around the steering column. Simply pull the switch off the back of the lock and turn it with a screw driver to start. This however does not address the problem of the steering wheel lock.
