So i bought a luke box for my e34.
here are the specs,
Jensen power 5500 AMP
Infinity referance 10" DVC Sub wired to 2 ohm
JVC Ar860 Headunit http://support.jvc.com/consumer/prod...3&archive=true
So i had everything wired up for about a month, using only channel 5 for the subwoofer and the rest of the speakers through the stock amp.
The amp was grounded to the rear strut tower.
One day, i started hearing clicking noises through the sub when id say, use blinkers, or roll up and down the windows. Every once in awhile id get an intermittant loud buzzing noise.
Note that i could unplug the sub rcas from the back of the head unit, and i can listen to stuff through my normal speakers fine.
Also, car power is done thru the passenger side, i routed the RCA and remote wire through the driver side.
I called luke up today, and he told me that the strut tower isnt a good ground, and after its regrounded i should try plugging my mp3 player directly into the amp via line in and see if it makes any noise.
Regrounded to the - battery terminal, and it made no differance, still a ticking noise. I also plugged my mp3 player into the amp and it played fine, made no noise when i used windows etc.
Can i deduce that its my head unit even though it works for my other speakers?
is this fixable?
Thanks!
