Simple question re: speaker depth, yes I searched

I am buying speakers as a gift for an e30 driver.

The car is a 1987 325is, with premium sound.

It has 5 1/4 coax Sonys, with blown stock tweeters.

What is the depth of the 5 1/4 fronts that I can use?

Does anyone know a decent "bolt-in" component kit for the front, and then perhaps the rear?

Because this is a gift , it need to be pretty simple.

Amp is an Alpine 75 x 4, and a good sub in the trunk.

Jay, the dynamics of the hole means it ain't so simple. It is not just a cylindrical space with nothing in it, right?
