A set meaning 2? You could get a 2 channel amp and you would be fine.

    Sold it.

A set meaning the front components with crossovers. NO rears.

Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of amp to get or certain models that are good. Thanks

Are you going to add rears in the future?

I love my Alpine V12. Its super-clean sounding and pumps out plenty of power to my MB Quarts. I've also heard Hifonics (sp?) makes excellent amps, I think TJ (Digitalwave) has one. I'm sure more people with chime in with more informed opinions.

Thats a negative ghost rider. I dont like they way the screw with the sound staging. There is a neverending debate over this, ive concluded that its just up to each individual person to decide. Actually i MAY add some and just power them off the HU for when im listening to techno and such but MOST of the time im not so im not sure its worth the extra money.

run the rears on mono and no tweets and your staging will be fine... have been doing that in all my cars and have always gotten good scores in the sq classes for staging / seperation / imaging when i used to compete in my corrado... pheonix gold used to recommend that in there amp setup guides and did it in there show cars pre surround sound

So like, just get a 5.25 mid. I was also trying to stay away from 3 amps. I dont think MBQ makes a mid that doesnt need an amp, do they?

They're hard to find, but I'm sure if you dig around enough you could locate some.
I'd go with some Image Dynamics 2 ohm 5 1/4" midbass drivers. You can get them from www.carmedia1.com , but you might want to go with the 4ohm model if you're going to run them in parallel to get a mono signal.

hey mattm20 u also forgot Memphis amps on that list. As for midbass drivers, kickers make some good midbass drivers that have pretty shallow mounting depth, but i'm a big fan of ID stuff eventhough right now i'm running vifa 7inch midbass drivers.
