    Intermittent Cruise

Some days it works, some days it doesn't. Some days the accel feature works but it won't actually engage. My guess is the actuator needs replacing but anyone else have a thought?

No signs of life from cruise for over a week.

I swapped stalks and no change.

Anyone have an opinion on control module verses actuator?

My issue was that the kill switch bracket for the clutch pedal was bent from use just enough to where the switch would break contact and the system wouldn't work. Easy fix by bending it back into place... no issues since!

I'd consider checking the brake pedal kill switch and bracket too.

Well crap....I replaced both the actuator and control module and the system is still dead.

Did you inspect the grounds? if no,.......
I would suggest finding the grounds and the fuses for that cruise control system. the electrical troubleshooting manual can be found on the forums with a quick search under "etm" or "electrical troubleshooting manual".
you dont even have to bother with a test light and all that stuff. just check to see if the grounds and fuses are there, whole, and connected first. pull each fuse out and inspect. wiggle each wire and ground going to and from the cruse control box. look for wires going directly from the box to the frame. hope this helps.

Well I'll be dammed......so I was perusing this thread http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthr...cruise+control Just top see if I had missed anything. I didn't recall disconnecting anywires when I did my swap. Sure enough C143 was connected. I dis'd it and the cruise works. So the stranger question is why did it work sometimes with c143 connected? Not going to worry too much about that one though.
