radio code for 97 z3

my supervisor diconnected his battery in his 97 z3 and now the radio is asking him for the code. he has it and doesn't know how to input it. owner's manual doesn't cover the topic apparently...any insight fellas!??

contact the dealer. i think they keep things like that on file. no internet sites offering that kind of stuff that i know of.

Since he has the code, he can call the service dept. @ a dealer and they MIGHT help him. If not try out bimmeforums on any other sight with bimmers that have those kinda of radios in them i.e. e36.

I think Jordan might be on to something. It's really not that hard.

the radio actually reads "wait code" and was advised to wait an hour after running and should, thereafter, read code, which, at that point he should be able to input the correct code. we'll see!

If someone cannot use numbered keypads to enter a code, chances are they need guidance.
You have a few attempts between tries to get it right after which it locks you out hence the wait period.

i think we had a z3 and we held down the mode button and it told us the code for the radio. i dont know if it will work on your car give it a try.

Samething happened to me. Just put the code in order and if you do mess up you have to leave the keys in the on position in the ignition for 2 hrs. You get only 3 chances, if you screw up it locks it till you let it stay in on position for 2hrs.
