anyone tried bluetooth reciever + amp + phone car setups?

    Hey All

With phones having so many nick nacks i was wondering, has anyone tried a minimalist install while still trying to have decent sound? i figure if you had a bluetooth reciever in the boot and some decent apps on the phone you could eliminate the need for a headunit and put some cool doohickeys (gauges, drink holders maybe) or even just have a OG radio for funsies.

    One serious problem to that.

Changing tracks with a trunk mounted AD2P device.

(I have bluetooth on my headunit. Works great. Pandora while driving FTW)

You can change tracks over A2DP.

But the BT receiver would only receive audio, the display and work would be done by the phone. You'd have to find a receiver with some kind of extendable mic though to pick up your voice in the cabin.

I use a Clarion FZ501 which is basically the same thing in head unit form. Works great for calls and audio. Comes with handy remote that is way easier than trying to use phone touchscreen. Also has aux & USB inputs. Only downside is that the usb input is only on the front of the head unit. For $100 at Fry's I couldn't beat it though!

Consider a Parrot 9200 as a source, feeding amps or even the stock amp. Does all the shit you are talking and more, drop a stock deck back in.

        Or

Check out the Audiocontrol LC8i (I know their stuff is MAJOR money down there) as an interface between your stock deck and your amps, it has a variable volume AUX in...killer, absolutely kick ass sound quality...you can get away with seriously cheap amps and still have serious bad ass SQ.

        Or

You also have a deck available over there that isn't here (we get the shitty downgrade) from Pioneer, the model is something like DEH6300. The color match is nearly perfect, 3 pair of hi-volt preouts, Bluetooth, including A2DP, just a generally kick ass deck. Ask "5Toes" for the correct model number, he is the guy who showed it to me. Our watered down 2 low volt preout is my fav checp deck right now, they are $135 with Bluetooth at WalMart

        And

If you fed one of those Pioneers into an Audiocontrol 6XS crossover, you could do absolutely world-class SQ for just a few hundred bucks if you chose wisely.

i bought a 150 sony deck with bluetooth and mic. i actually removed the mic from behind the faceplate. lengthed it with a small piece of wire and mounted it in the dash. the little piece that holds the alarm light and removed the light and taped the mic behind the hole and reinstalled the piece in the dash it looks clean and the mic picks up better.
