    Factory Amp location?

I'm trying to wire in my new head unit, but I am unable to figure the wiring out.

I have a pair of wires for left and right going into the harness from the old radio, and then I think those wires are going straight to the fader, but I dont know where they are going after that.

They dont match the wiring code for speakers, so they must be the inputs for the factory amplifier, but I have no idea where the thing is.

Can anyone help me track the bastard down?

    Its an 85 318i coupe.

    1) Factory amp is located behind the drivers side trunk panel, mounted up and to the left behind where the jack sits.

    2) You cant install a HU and wire it up to stock setup. Stock Setup uses a common ground. Run new wires to all 4(8) speaker locations.

I had a feeling that may be the case.

What is the best trick to wiring the speakers? Seams like a bitch to do, especially the front speakers.

I just ran new wire from my new headunit to my speakers. It's not that hard, not fun(hiding the wires is a chore) but is a much better option than trying to use the factory amp IMHO. :P
