    Alternator Whine

As the title states I turn on my car one morning and this high pitched buzzing is coming from the stereo speakers. After googling I find out that it is indeed alternator whine. Also sometimes when I press the breaks in accessory mode or use the foglights or highbeams while driving, the Stereo Deck either shuts off or restarts. I looked behind the stereo deck and everything seemed to be in order. So for the past 2 days I've been driving with the radio off to prevent myself from throwing it out the window. Any idea on what to do?

Im curious if they ran you a new ground and goes to the same spot all that other stuff dose. There are two bolt(may be wrong) that ground under the steering wheel. maybe it has vibrated loose.

I had a whine in my system because it was ground with the same bolt as the ECU. I think it was picking up the injector pulses...

Alright, I had a look at the wires and there is no other ground I don't think, but it looks like there is 3 brown wires spliced into one wire that connect to the head unit. I've bought a couple inline filters too, I'll see if that does anything.

Might need to replace the alt, a bad diode can cause a whine. Alsp clean off your connections at the battery, bad connections will cause increased resistancce, resulting in a whine.

Just thought I would update this thread, my battery ground wire was beginning to get corroded so I replaced it with a 10$ Canadian Tire battery ground cable and not only did it fix my alternator whine it also fixed various other electrical issues and increased my Idle speed from 650-700 to 1000 rpm. I would recommend changing it if it hasn't been changed already.
