Heater blower doesnt work... but does?

Ok so this is the weird issue Im having. I just replaced the heater control valve on my 91 318 m50 and now my heater blower stopped working. So I was being lazy and just started pulling fuses to see if I blew one, and when I pulled fuse 10 the fan kicked on..... WTF. So my fan works now only if I pull fuse 10 out and shuts off if I put fuse 10 back. I have been driving my m50 swap for about a year with no problems. Can I get some input any comments are appreciated!

    Finding some info:

Fuse 10 powers unloader relay K7, which in turn supplies power to fuses 19 and 20, which among other things supply the blower motor and power mirrors.

    Still looking

Fuse 10 controls a whole load of things that are tied to the ignition, most obvious is the gauge cluster. If that works, it is a safe assumption that relay is getting power.

Fuses 19 and 20 are the ones controlled by the relay.

As you tested, Fuse 1 should only show power with the high beams on, fuse 10 with the ignition on, and 20 with the ignition on and the car not cranking.

The unloader relays receive +12v from the ignition, and ground out through the starter windings.

Food for thought, the blower stopped working on my car, so I took a known good one out of my other car and it still didn't work. Tons of fuse checking and wire tracing later, ended up the contacts on the fuse board had cracked. I had to resolder them.

After that, problem free blower motor.

Unloader relay not hooked up properly?

interesting.... Im going to pull the car back in the garage and pull out my electrical tester. By not pulling the intake mani to reach my coolant hoses it was a tough reach and I could of pulled something loose

Thanks dave it was the starter wire. I must of pushed it loose. I fixed the connection and now my fan works with the fuse in how it should.
