    CD-43 dimming?

Hello everyone. Does anybody know if the CD-43 radio's digits and face dim along with the instrument panel when you use the rheostat? I installed mine in a 1988 325i and as far as I remember the radio dimmed. I had to remove a bunch of fuses from the fuse box because one melted. I notice that the radio does not dim anymore but I am not 100% sure if it did before.

    Thanks!!!

    Same here for me.

I know that there is a dimming wire, but when I tried to connect it to the E30 dimming wiring, it wouldn't work.

Is it compatible? or am I missing something?

Usually a dimming wire only dims the lights when you turn the headlights on, not when you adjust the rheostat. It's at night (when you have the headlights on) the radio isn't blindingly bright.
