    Whats the best alarm system???

    I am finally going to put an alarm on my baby and was wondering what your opinions were on a good car alarm.. I dont know shit about them... What i can say is i dont like the ones that sound off like six different sounds.. Are all like that now?? Thanks..

    Move out of the hood. But seriously, don't install an aftermarket alarm, or at least not one that immobilizes the car. It WILL fail, and then you will be stranded. Ask me how I know (thanks previous owner).

      False information. A high quality alarm, properly installed, will last the lifetime of the car. Your case was probably an issue of a bad installation.

        False. The alarm itself failed. It may have been a POS alarm, but either way I ended up walking home.

          Every single alarm I have installed in the last 30 years (literally thousands BTW) has had an override control...but since you weren't the original purchaser, you likely didn't know about it.

          Buuuut, since todays relays suck, I no longer do any kind of actual immobilization just to prevent scenarios like yours.
