deck turns on but no sound!

so i just picked up a new e30 ( 87' 325is) and it has a aftermarket deck (the deck is a alpine iDA-X100 and it works but no sound from the speaker at all. is there some kind of mute or something im missing? feel like a idiot not being able to figure this out? attempting to contact previous owner for answers as well. he assured me it worked fine and is a trust worth guy.

I have that deck. the power IC might be turned off.
Hold the audio button. It will take you to a different menu. Scroll to power ic. Hit search button. Change it with the scroll wheel.
