Can I direct swap from moto to vdo?

nope, when i bought my car it had vdo but the speedo wasnt working so instead of doing research first I impulse bought a motometer cluster.

only thing is there is some type of chip in the cluster. Im not sure what its for but i made sure the one that came with my car went into the new(ish) cluster. hope that helps

I replaced my motometer with a VDO. No issues to report. Everything works like its supposed to.

the early cluster wont work in the late models and the late clusters wont work in the early models
