    Blower, windows, sunroof in-operational

Ok long story short, I picked up a cheap IX that needed a head gasket, that bit is going smoothly so far.

Another issue that I would like to address is the blower motor not working before I put the motor back in, while I was inside the car fiddling with motor speed switch I also noticed the windows nor the sunroof work, cool!

Okay so this is where I am stuck at.

I pulled the firewall panel off because I had to install a new wiper motor and linkage and install the blower motor, not sure why all this stuff was taken out!

Anyways linkage is in, and blower motor is sitting there not quite tied down yet as I haven't figured that out. But direct power to the motor and it works, fuse is good and jumping the K7 relay pins runs the blower, but the knob inside does nothing. Swapped every compatible relay into the K7 slot to no avail. Where else do I need to be looking? The switch itself?

As to the power windows and roof the only thing I noticed is all fuses are good, and the driver side switch has a cut wire Black/yellow stripe I believe. I haven't found a great wiring diagram for the windows yet, although admittedly I haven't looked too hard, I'd much rather have heat than operating windows right now.

Any insight at all on either of these topics is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Matt

The Electrical Troubleshooting Manual for your car is available here. It contains circuit diagrams for all circuits in your vehicle including wire colors.

There is a resistor unit for the blower fan behind the firewall (near the fan) to control fan speed. If it is missing no power to the fan. Oh wait. If jumping the relay gives you fan then it probably IS the fan switch or related wiring. I've never had failure of that switch. Trace the wires.

The windows have a circuit breaker either on the dash or on the console. Make sure it is not turned off.

And for windows,I've found on mine several switches are broken and work half the time so I took my good switch and checked to make sure it wasn't the motors, good luck I just did a hg on the car I bough.its fun!

I'd bet $5 that it's a problem with the unloader relays. There is a ground that goes to the starter that when you start the car gets fed 12v to cut all of the things you listed in order to feed more power to the starter. For some reason the wire stops grounding out and you lose power to all of those. A quick simple fix is to find the right wire on the starter and then just ground it out, and then not use the PW, blower, or sunroof while you try and start the car. Good luck\

Edit: An easy test is to make a short jumper and replace the relays at the appropriate terminals.
