Kicker sub?

I'm sure either one of those would be fine, personally I wouldn't get the kicker, hate anything kicker, over-marketed shit.
That Rockford Fosgate should be fine, but as Nitro mentioned, enclosure is everything. Sounds like you aren't looking to go all out on a system, however if you want the best sound quality then I'd buy a Lukebox, if you're on a budget look up the manual for the sub you want and it'll have suggested box sizes for ported and sealed so if you buy a pre-made one you can try and get as close to that as possible. For a 10 I'd probably go ported just to beef it up a little.
GLDifferent strokes for different folks.

I have a Kicker 12" comp sub. Powered by an old cheap Sony Xplod amp. It's in a luke box and sounds awesome. Cheap sub, amp, and HU and it really does sound great. It doesn't rattle the trunk and you can't really hear it outside of the car. Even with the windows open. Which I like. Like these guys said, it's all about the box. Get the Luke and you will not be disappointed.

Thanks guys, I went with the kicker sub comp. I was a little worried on box. Maybe I can save and get the luke box. The only concern was I have a vert and I really wanted to cut out the rear center like Luke mentioned. Maybe I will contact Luke I remember he advising me a while he is doing a vert box.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
