    Viper 211hv Wiring

I have very little wiring experience and done some research on here and e30tech and couldn't find enough information on this system. Hopefully someone can shed some light for me. I got a good deal on a Viper keyless Viper 211hv with some features, although I do not need all of them. (maybe in the future) I just want to use the keyless lock/unlock, parking light flash, and dome light supervision. I plan on mounting this in the driver side kick panel but using the lock wires routing to the trunk.

Here is what I have so far:

    Keyless Wires - Car Wires

Red (12v constant)- Red or 12v constant on Ignition (Light Green Wire)
Blue (-200 mA Second unlock output) -
    Black/White-1 (Input of domelight supervision relay #87) - ?
    Black/white (output of domelight supervision relay #30) - ?
    green/black (lock #30 common output) - Green/Black
    white/black (lock #87 normally closed) -
    violet/black (lock #87 normally open input) -
    blue/black (unlock #30 common output) - Green/Purple
violet (unlock #87 normally open input) -
    white (+/- parking light flash output) - Splice into 2 ---> Grey/White & Grey/Yellow
    black (ground) - Grounded
brown (- horn honk output) -
    lightgreen/black (factory alarm disarm) -
    white/blue (- 200mA channel 3 validity output) -
yellow (+ switched ignition input accessory) -
orange (- 500mA ground when armed output) -
    brown/black (unlock #87a normally closed) -
    red/white (- output of channel 2) -

    Any help is appreciated, Thanks

For keyless entry you would be able to get all the wires you need in the trunk. If you trace the wires you'll find your lock and unlock wires and ground. Then run the constant 12v with a fuse to the battery. On the parking light mine had 3 separate wires that i had to connect namely front left, front right and the rear parking lights. all were located on the light switch. You can use a multimeter to test them.

maybe this will help too... http://e30world.com/electrical/BMW-E...y-modification

If I had a simpler Keyless entry I would use the trunk installation, but for future proof I would prefer the driver side kick panel.

For the parking lights, my system came with one wire. On other similar systems they have multiple wires which is more convenient for our cars since each side is powered by a different wire. I was thinking I would splice the single wire to create two connections for the left and right side lights (Grey/White & Grey/Yellow) but correct me if I am wrong.

Lights: yes, you have the wires right. You can safely connect the same wire to both left and right parking lights at the switch. You should use diodes (3A or so is fine) but you really don't need to. Left = Gray/Yellow, right = Gray/White, both are positive switching.

Locks: put ground on the 2 wires labelled "common", on DEI product they are usually connected anyway. the outputs go to lock and unlock, obviously. As you kit has onboard relays, you will be fine using the outputs directly. If you go directly to the lock relay, be careful not too activate it if it is not vertical, it make go into "permanent unlock" mode.

On the central locking module, lock is Yellow/Blue (-), unlock is Green/blue (-)

Main power is the bigger red wire, ignition is solid green, both on the main key harness.

If you want to connect to the done light, that is brown/purple, but make sure you have the correct one. One of them will trigger from both doors, one only does the drivers door.

Domelight supervision will turn your domelight on when you unlock the doors. You will need a normal SPDT relay to make that work. You could use the domelight relay is you choose, but I won't.

Thanks Luke, just what I needed. I'll get on this once I have the time and report back with the results.

Hey guys sorry for the late response, was on vacation in San Diego for the week. So today I was able to tackle this and everything went smooth, except towards the end where it took me forever to find out that I forgot to ground the locks. Other than that it took me less than an hour to get everything mocked up. I didn't put everything back together or crimp/clean everything up because I need to buy some proper butt connector sizes and some extra wire to extend the 12v constant on the main key harness, its kind of hard to reach in there and crimp properly so I thought it would be better to extend it a little bit. I also still need to wire the parking light flash but once I get the rest of the materials I'll wire that as well. (Everything is closed today)

So here is what I have connected so far:

                    Keyless Wires - Car Wires

Red (12v constant)- Big Red wire on Main Key Harness
                    Green/Black (lock #30 common output) - Green/Black
                    Blue/Black (unlock #30 common output) - Green/Purple
                    White (+/- parking light flash output) - Spliced into 2 ---> Left = Gray/Yellow, Right = Gray/White
Violet/Black (lock #87 normally open input) -Grounded
Violet (unlock #87 normally open input) - Grounded
                    Black (ground) - Grounded

I'll update again once I fully complete this project.

                    Happy Holidays

                    J

You are going to need to connect the IGN circuit too, and the door pins, or you won't be able to program a DEI
