I have never done this. how does one mount a stereo cradle in an e30 dash. Nothing is there at the moment.

It comes with a metal "sleeve" that the deck clips to.
The metal sleeve is secured to the dash with little tabs that you fold out with a screwdriver or needlenose or whatever...just make sure that sleeve is firmly in place.
The deck then slides in, until it "clicks" (make sure your heater controls still work properly, keep the wires tidy) and that is it. To get it out, you release the little tabs on the side of the sleeve using the "keys" that were supplied with the deck.
