Friend made a classic winter mistake. Started the car to let it warm up, realizing that the car has a quarter inch of ice over the entire thing, but didn't realize the wipers were in the on position. But the time he came back there was a strong smell of burned electronics in the car. The Wipers half functioned for a day, and then died completely.
My question is, did the wiper motors burn up, or is there electrical wiring that can burn up first? As I stated, the wipers half worked, so they died slowly. This isn't a fuse issue.
My assumption is the wiper motors, but we don't want to go through the hassle of checking all the wires under the dash before acquiring new ones if we can avoid it. It's really not the weather out here for non garage car work :)
