hello fellow members, I have a 91 318is with non premium sound. Did not come with tweeters and I did notice it came factory pre wired for some tweeters. Now the question is I plug them in and no sound. Ive noticed a few plugs that looked disconnected on the kick panel behind the driver speaker. Ive searched here and have not found any solutions. If any one has some pictures or a DIY guide that can help me that would be great. Thanks:nice:

There are a few threads in this section about this topic but I think my brain has most of the info consolidated.
I have a 91 318is, didn't come with stock tweeters but was wired up, same situation as you.
Look at those wires behind the little tweeter triangle card, then find the same colored wires down behind your kick panel by your speakers. That's them!
They won't work unless you hook them up to a crossover (or so I'm told). I bought a component speaker set for my front and did just that, hooked the tweeters up to the wires that were already in behind the door triangle, and the other end of those wires to my crossover.
Works fine.
