    Compressor plug/cables

Although it only shows that this is my first post, let me start off by saying I have been a member on here for over 5 years. I lost access to my account a year ago, the administrator couldn't retrieve my info so I mainly stayed around bimmerforums for a while, but now I'm back.

I had a 1991 325i sedan for almost 5 years. Unfortunately, someone hit me from behind a week after I bought a 1987 325i which the owner had it parked for two years. I bought it really cheap with a messed up motor. I was planning on swapping an M52TUb28 into my 91 and swapping my m20 from the 91 to the 87, but the 91 is no more. I only swapped the m20 into the 87 and gave up with the 91. So now I'm looking for a shell or a 318is or something for my M52TU that's just sitting there. :/

Anyway. I have an issue with the late model engine into the early model chassis. The compressor has it's own 3 cable plug which contains 2 black/red cables and a black cable assuming that's the ground. The early model chassis only has one black/red cable and that's it. Which one do I connect it to or do I connect both to it? Essentially, Why does the late model have two cables and the ground? What kind of signals are being sent from each cable that the early model only required one?

I'm having trouble deciphering these diagrams.
They both have two Black/red cables coming from the switches. One having the extra low cut pressure switch and the other showing the 325e motronic unit, but other than that, They show that both should have two cables. I'm confused.

Bump! I'm sure i am not the only one who has swapped a late model engine into an early chassis. Someone has had to have run into this before.
