86 325 gas gauge questions

Hey, so my gas-gauge always says its full, until i put pressure on the plug on the back of the instrument-cluster.
Any ideas?
I have pulled the have pulled the cluster to replace the bulbs and fix the temp gauge that wasn’t reading right, fixed both of those and I taught while I have the cluster out why not fix it all

Your description makes it sound like a bad connection. Fix the connection.

Sometimes if you clean up the contacts for the coolant/fuel gages with a wire brush they will work a little better. If it works when you press on the plug, make sure all the wires are in the plug securely.
