Where does MPG needle supposed to be when the car is in idle?

When the car is on and I am parked. Does the MPG needle (right below the RPM gauge) supposed to be resting at the "40" number or the "0" number?

Correct, if you aren't moving, you're getting 0 miles per gallon.

You should be getting 1,497,330,224 miles to the gallon at idle, give or take a few here.
