    OBC Questions

I have an April 1987 325iS with the 13 button OBC. I recently replaced my tired looking OBC with a nice looking unit that I pulled from a 1989 Vert in a junkyard. I have the new unit hooked up, but I cannot set the clock or change it from metric to imperial units. I suspect that I have a broken change over contact - I tried to test to reset the unit (ignition in position 1, go to code and depress change over contact till MMPH flashes), and the MMPH did not flash. I checked that I had done the test correctly by doing the same test on the old unit (where MMPH did flash).

My question is can I fix the change over contact, or do I need to get another new unit?

Also, should I be worried about the differences in the firmware? The original ('87) ran 3-1.2 TYP and the new ('89) runs 4-6 TYP.

Thanks in advance for the help.
