So here's a step by step of what happened to my RHD E30 1991 sedan:
1. Central locking is working fine
2. One day, the actuator of the driver's door gets jammed in the locked position, I can't unlock it or open door
3. To allow use of car, I remove the actuator
4. One day, I find a replacement actuator, but this is actually a blue headed one meant for the rear trunk
5. I install this blue actuator into the driver's door
6. Central locking doesn't work now
7. I read online about how the actuators are specific to each door, by now I have managed to unjam the original actuator that was in the driver's door, so I removed the blue actuator and reinstall the original one
8. Central locking still doesn't work
When I say central locking doesn't work, I mean nothing happens when I lock or unlock either of the front doors. Sometimes randomly, I will hear a whirring sound and usually the petrol flap gets locked, but other than that, no other doors respond.
Any suggestions? Did I fry the central locking module by using the wrong actuator on the wrong door? Is there some sort of reset procedure I need to do?
