No grounds in dash or truck (88)

I'm using Luke's amp bypass thread, and i got my radio power working, but the speakers don't produce sound. I'm trying to only get my fronts working, the rears I'll worry about later since they keep shorting out my radio.


So like title states, I followed the rest of it without an issue, but there's no extra wires for ground, definitely nothing that's orange/brown...

same with trunk, there's a brown ground but the front speakers grounded to it don't produce any sound....

help?

that spare brown wire (ground) that used to go to the amp seems to do the trick, however the rears seem to be tripping my kenwood deck's "protected mode" - which usually indicates blown components or a short, I'll investigate more this weekend.
