cruise control actuator connector

My cruise control doesn't work. It has intermittently worked before.

I tested the clutch switch, and I opened the actuator and didn't see any broken gears. I'd like to test the solenoid and motor in the actuator but I can't get the connector off.

What is the trick? I am stumped.

Well if you're looking for the wire to unplug from the actuator, it doesnt. Trace the wire back into the cabin and you will find a small round connector just above and to the left of the clutch pedal.
