Need help with head unit install

Bought my e30 with no head unit, no speakers, nothing in it. Went to the junk yard to find some wiring for a head unit I was going to purchase off r3v, but found a stock one in a e34 touring instead. Pulled it out, clipped the harness and off I went. Now, heres the fun part. I'm going to take it in tomorrow with me to work and see if I can get a code for it (p# 82 11 1 468 290 v2). I looked up the e34 ETM, and the closest I could find for the pin out is for the amplifier. I'll have to look again to see what colors would match the e30s to wire it up, but what I'm worried about is wiring the speakers, since my car didn't come with anything speaker wise. I don't necessarily want to go aftermarket, due to my locks not working and windows not working, blah blah. But the more I think about this, the more likely it looks.

    So, long story short:

Wiring stock e34 head unit to clipped e30 harness; match colors?
How Should I go about wiring the speakers in; just run wire and splice?

OK, assuming the E34 is using the later square plug (92 and up IIRC), this is pretty easy.

The color codes off of the deck are pretty standard BMW, adn you should find all you need in the ETM...but the colors basically do match...except for constant and switched power, which seem to swap colors in every 3rd car anyway. Hell, half the time the ETM is wrong too!

Anyway, kinda depends on your E30 too, there are several harnesses depending on what your car is: late or early both have derivatives, and Premium Sound cars are different too in early and late...so you gotta know the cars basic setup to get proper answers.

Now, for the good news: BMW wire is kick ass. You will see when you find all the stock crap, the wire is amazing. No other car has such nice wire at 25 years, it is unreal.

Do your best to keep all stock wire. Stick with it, learn the BMW way, it kicks ass.

BTW, your doors should be pre-wired for tweeters if you don't have a premium sound car.
