ive done research and cant find anything on e30s but a bunch on e39 and other models. now i just got this car and it came witht he problem the radio stays on with the key out car locked and all that i have to take the face off for it to not play. is there any knowledge on what the culprit may be?

Stock radio? Sounds like its wired to a constant power source, rather than a switched ignition source. -
Since no E30 came with a radio that had a removable faceplate, this has to be an aftermarket radio. It being powered all time system says that it was improperly installed.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
