    Box in Trunk

My box will be on the driver's side right up by the wheel well. I was going to bolt it down so it doesnt move. Is there anything directly under the floor that its possible to hit? I wont be able to look under the car until Saturday. Also, what kind of bolt to use? I figure a screw wouldnt work lol so what type of bolt?

    Will

My brother put 12's in with box and he had no problem with movement. Just keep the carpet in and make sure that the box is wrapped in felt that you usually see them have and it won't slip.

My box is only for one 8. Base will only be about 6.5" x 12" or so. I drive quickly so I want to bolt it down. I use to have a bigger box and never had problems with movement but I'm not takin any chances with this one.

Will, pull your seat back out and run screws into the box through the sheet metal.

        Highly theft resistant, I promise.

nah, use some agressive bit wood lag screws.

Thats what I did, and like Luke said... very theft resistant.

My amps were also bolted through the box, with the hardware on the INSIDE.

Stealing any of it would have been a serious PITA.

No need to pre-drill. Pre-drilling is only required for material that is likely to split or the size of the screw would make it to difficult to drill. A high powered drill and some drywall or similarly agressive screws is/are exactly what you need. The sheet metal behind the rear seat is very thin and the screw should just bite into the metal and then pull the box tight.

Good info, I'm probablly going to be putting two 12" subs with an Orion amp into my car after I buy a Viper alarm system.

Glad to hear of some more anti-theft techniques. My personal favorite, which I thought of, was to find a few rattle snakes and stick one or two in the glovebox and 6 or 7 in the back. You can bet no one's stealings hit out of my car and if they do they won't get far once the venom kicks in ;)
