5 1/4 front speaker recommendation behind speaker kick panel

Hello guys,
Currently running an alpine 9881 head unit and premium speakers front and rear.

my car is slightly gutted

• no carpet
• no sound deadening
• no trunk carpet.
• solid engine mounts
• solid trans mounts
• slightly loud exhaust

I'm also concerned about weight, current weight is 2,460 with half a tank of gas.

Id like to recover the rear parcel shelf and not use rear speakers and replace the stock front speakers with something better.

My goals

• Some ok/decent sound quality component speakers when listening to my i pod at high enough volumes to overcome the loud engine mounts.
• I also really want these new speakers to fit behind the stock front speaker kick panels.
• I dont plan on running tweeters.
