    Backwards compatibility with radios

I'm looking to get another radio for the ol' chariot, and can't stand the look and non-userfriendliness of aftermarket radios. I prefer the stock look. Could this factory e36 radio be compatible with the e30? Or other suggestion/ideas?

Anything single DIN, like that one, will fit in the E30. You'll need the code for it, as the listing mentions, and you'll have to wire it into your harness as the plugs are different irrc. There are some good aftermarket ones out there, and the e36 ones will stick out of the dash somewhat more than the factory head unit.

There are a few aftermarket ones I've considered. I'd like to keep the stock look though. I'll continue my research.
