Just got a Clifford alarm installed

I just got a Clifford 2.5X installed, like a Viper 5000 but it has a better range.
This thing is really sweet. I love how the car chirps. :D
The install is very high quality. They did things I don't want to imagine having to do in a car like an E30. They also installed stereo wiring for me at the same time.
Haven't tested the full range yet, but I'm sure it's awesome. I will hopefully post pics up in the next few days, along with pics of my audio install as it comes along.

They void the warranty without professional installation.
Besides, I could never have done the same job myself, not unless I wanted to spend 2 weeks doing it.
I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

Really? Why? I love Clifford alarms. I had one on my old truck, and I wish I had gotten Clifford when I got an alarm for my e30.

Clifford is no longer Clifford. I fucking HATED older Clifford, and I bet I have installed 500 or more. Especially the goddamn G4 shit....worst piece of shit ever. I just recently threw away about 6 dead brains. None were less than $400 retail.

DEI bought the Clifford name about 3 years ago.

Clifford is just another taiwan made DEI alarm. Same shit, different day.

They work well, hold up OK, have neat features.

              Hmmmmm...sounds like Honda or Toyota!

I still prefer Audiovox. Most people don't like the name, neither do I. They are still the best alarm on the market, IMO, since they bought Code-Alarm.

I still say the brand name on the hunk of electronics really does not matter. The quality of the installation does.

I am glad to hear you are happy with the work you got. What is the name of the shop? If you are really happy, on some really fucking hot day, take your installer a freezing cold 12 pack of soda. Even if it is not his favorite, you will be!

Not to hijack the thread but what about brands like Alpine that sell their own alarms intended to connect with their units? I never got too much into that stuff as far as knowing manufacturers and such..... Just knew how to put em in and that was enough to bring me a paycheck.

Alps quit doing alarms a few years ago, I understand they have started again.
The whole AI-net thing is still going on, just weirder.

They quit? Man oh man..... They had the best thing goin with that 8081 and the expansion module. Hooked it up to run a fella's hydro's. He tipped me 500 bux. *LOL* With all the sensors and shit we put on that car it took me 4 days to put that alarm in.

You don't have any used stuff kickin round do ya Luke? I need a used remote start for my neon. Its got that damn transponder key.....

I have an old Clifford Concept 60? that I had put on about 6 years ago. PITA. I must have taken it back 5 times trying to get the auto-roll-up windows and auto headlights to work right. I eventually had them disconnect the headlight feature because of all the lights it would trigger on my check panel. The brain went bad after about a year, had it replaced under warranty. Master remote bit the big one after about 3 years, had it replaced under warranty. It's held up alright for a while now. The proximity sensors are kind of annoying sometimes. But it was worth every penny just for the remote locks and window rollup features. :)
