All right i have 2 infinity references 300 rms 1200 max subs and a visonik 2 channel amp. Is it bad wiring or do i need a 4 channel amp? or maybe just another 2 channel? because its hardly as bassy as i think it should be.
thanks
He probably has them wired in series. Although they probably should be. It doesn't sound to me like that amp will be able to run a 1 ohm load if it's bridged to paralleled subs.
It doesnt work at all now, i dont know whats up. I think im just going to have it wired "professionally". Im pissed.
bandpass enclosure, facing rear. 2 channels are only supposed to run 1 sub right? so i should buy another 2 channel amp.
1 speaker per channel. You should just run 1 channel into each sub. Just find a friend that can install stereos, hooking stuff up isn't hard at all, and "professional" installations aren't really worth it IMO. A bandpass box should be pretty loud (it won't sound good, but it'll come out pretty loud :P).
EDIT: BTW, It's kind of hard to make an e30 really loud, our trunks are sealed pretty good. I have a kove armageddon 15 and a 500d, it's pretty loud, but in my friends cars it's ALOT louder.
i'm sure i just have the sub wired up wrong. Check the stats on the sub, like what OHMS they require, then check what load your amp could take, and then figure out if u should run parrell or series. Your amp might just not match the ohm load on your subs so your not getting the maximum potential out of them. I'm pretty sure thats whats wrong. JL audio website has some good information on how ot wire a Sub up right, dont need it done professionally, just a waste of money.
You may also want to check to see if your ski hole is punched out in the back seat You can just knock it out with a hammer. Then you can aim your sub right through it. That should give you a nice bass increase.
