Any clever solutions for the armrest bracketry in a lukebox setup?

So I finally put the armrest rear seat in my car which has had the 10" Lukebox setup since the summer. Only now do I realize that half of the opening is covered by the metal bracketry that holds the armrest in place and is removable for ski-pass usage.

The vinyl flap is still nicely in tact and covers it up, but I'm sure this will flap and/or rattle with bass output.

Has anyone modified or come up with a solution for the armrest specifically for fit & finish with a subwoofer in there? I'd rather not just yank out the armrest altogether.

Hey bud, lemme see if I can find a pic of what I did. I cut all the bracketry off the armrest but left the hinged part, which I screwed to the seat itself...pretty easy and worked great.
