Fuel gauge, tach, and temp gauge all died

    Simultaneously.

Driving along and my fuel gauge goes to empty with no warning light on, tach goes to zero and temp goes to zero.

And my e-brake light doesn't turn on when the e-brake is engaged.

What have I done to deserve this??

Sounds like your si board batteries took a dump on you.

check your fuse. on my previous e30, the fuse wasn't getting good contact causing the tech to died. i pulled it out and scrape it against the cement and it was working again.
Bought parts from me before? leave your feedback here

If its the SI board, can you buy them new? Or do you have to replace the batteries.

I've heard some soldering is envolved... #notafan

You can do either, I think its easier to just get a new or reconditioned one over trying to find the right batteries and changing them yourself.

Where do you find new SI boards? A quick google search yielded confusing and limited results.

                  Reviving this thread.

I purchased a new SI board and still no results.

I should mention at this time that every time I start my car I get a blip of life from each part.

My tach goes up. My mgp thing moves. My temp gauge moves. Then after 3 seconds they all peg to zero and don't function until I turn my car off and back on.

Anyone help? I do not feel like ripping my dash apart again if I don't have to.

                  Thanks guys.

                    Also!! Important side note.

My fan for my heater/ac doesn't function. But does the same thing. 3 seconds of life and then turns off.

                      Aaaaand another update.

Everything is functioning. I replaced the board and found a fuse had been blown somewhere in the midst of my tests.

                      I'll keep you guys posted.
