    CD43 Troubles?

I plugged up my recently acquired CD43 head unit and I'm getting some strange behavior. I purchased a Rover unit (XQE 100 380), but should all the same from my understanding. Anyhow, after plugging it in and turning the ignition to ACC, the head unit blinks on and off and make a noise like it's about to eject a CD. When I turn the key to the ON position, there seems to be no power to the unit at all. The repeated noise is actually there even when the key is out of the ignition. To me it seems to be powering on and off repeatedly.

I am unable to enter a code, the buttons don't do anything when I press them. I've been searching for a manual for the unit to see what this issue indicated and how to remedy it, but so far have come up empty.

The seller says that this is what happens when the code is entered wrong too many times and to leave it on for a couple hours so it can reset; but I have not yet been able to enter a code yet. I'm leaving it on now to see what happens.

Is it possible that I've wired something incorrectly? Or is the CD43 itself faulty?
Have you seen this behavior before? Any ideas?

    Here's a video:

I figured it out. There were 2 ground wires (brown/black I think) that both need to be hooked up to the ground from the deck. It works as it's supposed to now.
