CM5905 Radio Code Entry - need input

I have a CM5905 and the code provided by the dealer, but I am not sure if I am entering it correctly / resetting the radio correctly.

So far, I've entered it the five-digit code while the radio displays "CODE" and nothing happens - then I enter it again and it beeps upon the first button pushed.

I have tried to reset the security device by waiting ~1 hour with the radio wired in, the radio knob turned on, and the key in the accessory position.

    1) Do I need to press something after entering the radio code?
    2) Am I resetting the code correctly?

    Thanks for any input.

    1) NO
    2) Yes, you are

Try disconnecting the battery, re connect and try the code again.

Ok, I will try that - wire in the radio, disconnect battery, reconnect battery, enter code. Should I leave the radio on while I do that? Just wondering, how is that different from pulling the power supplies from the radio?

You can pull power from the radio, its easier. Are you 100% you have the correct code?

I'm not 100% sure, but I have verified the code with two dealerships - the only thing I can imagine is that someone swapped the serial number, which seems very unlikely.

I've tried unplugging the constant power and ignition power (plus everything else) and it doesn't work. Might be a bad unit...

Picked up another OEM radio and a Blaupunkt so this is effectively solved. Thanks for the input.
