Got a free sub, unsure how to install

My brother sold his car a while back and gave me a pretty shitty box/sub that used to be in his car. I have a stock premium stereo system with an aftermarket head unit (blautpunk), and I believe the previous owner did the amp by-pass.

Now I've never done any stereo work on a car before so this is all new to me. I pulled the deck out yesterday in the hope of hooking it up and found some useful information on a sticker on the top of it, but I'm still confused. I found one pin marked subwoofer on the sticker, but it seems to be wired only to the front-left and rear-right speakers (could be wrong, was difficult to see).

I'm assuming it's as simple as running a set of wires from the deck back to an amp, through to the sub (which I want to leave on the rear seat for now). I have a good power source and ground available there, but I dunno if I'm on the right track.

    Any advice is helpful!

Generally speaking you will need to wire in an amp to run the sub. The only exception to this is some older model Pioneers (want to say about 6-7 years old).

Is the amp wired to the deck or just the sub?

I'd love to do that, but right now it's not in the budget.

I will get some useful info for you up shortly, been super busy.

Do you have RCAs, fuse holder, power wires, speaker wires? Did you already read the DIY's on here, I bet the info you need is there. If you have some stuff done, post a pic

I have RCas, fuse holder no but I'm within walking distance to a parts store, power wire and speaker wires yes. I've read the DIY for installing your boxes, I think that's it. I'll go search some out.

Here are some pics I took this weekend. First pic is of what I hope to be the AUX input, second is the back of the deck (was hoping for RCA inputs!), and the last is of the text on top of the deck. Can't see shit because I didn't put my phone in text mode, but I can try to get a better pic at some point this weekend.

            Thanks for the help.

To get RCAs or AUX on that ancient beast is gonna require finding the plugs that were optional back when it was new!

Get a rag underneath That head unit and tape off that clock, Pet peave....

Spend the 110 bucks and get a head unit on ebay, Kenwood and JBL have some that will match the lighting on your dash well.

I think I may just, as Skunk recommended, throw the box away and spend the money on a new deck and some front speakers. Perhaps later this summer I'll be able to afford an 8" Lukebox and do the stereo system right. Either way, you'll be hearing from me when I try to wire in my new deck haha.

                  Thanks for the advice

The new deck will be easy, Make a solid choice on the deck, and a quality set of fronts.
I would go 10" Luke box Be smart and Dynamat (or Peal and seal from Lowes) around your front kick panels and get the most out of them. Move on to the rear and do the same thing with the rear parcel shelf and speakers. when you get the box it will rock your world....
