    School Me on Wires

My reverse light haven't been working. I ordered a new switch, but it looks like the wire that leads to the shifter has been damaged by the driveshaft. I want to replace that too, but I've realized I don't even know how to do that.

What kind of wire do I use and where do I get it?

The kind with copper in the middle and insulation on the outside.

Just use 20 or 18 awg wire from an auto parts store and splice it in.

By splice he means with butt connectors and shrink wrap. put the shrink wrap on then the butt connectors, Crimp em and then pull the shrink wrap over and heat it with a loghter untill it shrinks.

Most of all find out why it was worn in the first place and be sure that all of the wire straps are in place, Replace as needed .
