    Is this for a subwoofer?

I found the attached audio jack in my trunk of a recently purchased E30 vert. I assume it is for a subwoofer, correct? Any other uses? See pic of audio jack and BMW head unit.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

That is what I was hoping, but I wasn't sure a cd changer could work with this head unit. I would appreciate any thoughts on how to make the best use of this wiring.

I think you need the premium head for the cd changer.
That looks like the same aftermarket wiring that came with my sony cd changer.

possibility: P.O had a nicer deck with a changer and swapped it out prior to sale.

or in my situation, My car came with a really crappy deck and a cd changer. I want to go back to a stock deck cause I cant stand how ugly this deck is.. CD changer isnt hooked up to current deck either. Might have a different deck back then. I pulled out the changer anyway

I actually prefer the look of the OEM radio that came with the car and the sound is decent. I am not an audiophile and besides - its a vert and anything with decent sound would be lost on it anyway.
